The Avenue General Manager Andrew Moth said Lake was commissioned to paint the mural depicting different aspects of the important areas found around the city. He said the idea behind the mural was to highlight those areas in a place that is prominent and would be easily seen.

“We found Shannon and we liked his work,” said Moth.

Lake began working on the mural before Thanksgiving and completed it on Nov. 27.

Moth said having the mural is part of a statewide push to establish a “mural trail” highlighting localities around Georgia.

Beyond that, Moth said having the mural is a way to help accomplish another goal, that of having The Avenue become the “Main Street” of Peachtree City.
