A Monday afternoon storm moving through Fayette County caused structural damage to a home in Peachtree City, along with a number of trees downed on the city’s south side. There were no storm-related injuries reported in the county.
Peachtree City Fire Rescue spokesman Ron Mundy said the residence on Wood Ridge off South Peachtree Parkway sustained significant structural damage when a large pine tree fell on the home. The house is being checked for structural integrity, Mundy said.
Mundy said there were a number of trees down on streets and cart paths in the areas of Crosstown Drive and Braelinn Road.
Mundy said a lightning strike at Eaton on Ga. Highway 74 South caused no damage.
In Fayetteville, Fire Chief Alan Jones the city experienced only random trees and limbs down.
