Appreciation for teachers

The Methodist Women of Hopewell United Methodist Church present a check in the amount of $275 to incoming principal Lisa Howe, of Burch Elementary School, to use for teacher appreciation. The women’s group held a dinner to raise funds to donate to the school. Regular school funds cannot be used to honor teachers, so the Burch staff said they really appreciated this donation. The women at Hopewell sponsor a dinner eight times a year to raise funds for local organizations and charities. The church is located at 351 Jenkins Road, in Tyrone.
