The Coweta County Commission on April 13 voiced no objection to the proposal to annex 167 acres into Senoia at Ga. highways 85 and 16 for the East Village mixed-use development.

With no objection from commissioners, the proposal will go back to the Senoia City Council for consideration.

Originally proposed in mid-2016, McIntosh Trail Properties proposed 245 homes for active 55 and up adults.

With a minimum of 2,000 sq. ft., the residential component would include 110 lots at .9-acres and 135 senior cottage lots at three per acre. More than 98 percent of the lots would be situated adjacent to greenspace areas, according to the proposed land use plan.

Amenities would include sidewalks, a path system, parks, lakes and docks, a clubhouse with swimming pool, fitness center and wi-fi cafe, and community flower and vegetable gardens.

Once approved, the commercial/grocery center component of the mixed-use development on the southeast corner of highways 16 and 85 will be proposed.

While the square footage of the anchor store is unknown, plans show a main building with several outparcels.
