Billie Lucille Kelley Mindlin, 93, passed away in her sleep at Brookdale Senior Living Community in Newnan, Ga. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. Billie was born January 21, 1924, to Dollie and James Edward Kelley in Mountain Park, Okla.
Her family moved to Ft. Worth, Texas when she was a young child. She remained in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area where she graduated from Northside High School. In 1979, she and her loving husband, Herman N. Mindlin, after his retirement, moved to Peachtree City, Ga. to be nearer to their family.

Billie and Herman were married in Ft. Worth, Texas on March 17, 1945. They met while Herman was serving in the Army Air Corps during WWII and were happily married for 60 years.

Billie loved to dance, sing to music Herman played on his Hammond organ, and cook, more often to feed others than herself. She loved a taste of everything! She enjoyed most being with and playing with uplifting people. She played cards and loved games or any excuse to socialize with family and friends. Billie was wise, fiercely loyal to her loved ones, uncompromisingly honest, genuinely friendly and kind, always with a gentle smile and reaching hand to everyone she met. She was loved by all who had an opportunity to know her. Billie will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Billie was preceded in death by two older brothers, Carl and Marvin Kelley; two older sisters, Edith Sisk and Della Faye Smith; and her loving husband, Herman N. Mindlin, who at 90, passed away in 2005.

She and Herman are survived by two daughters, Jamie Caton (George) and Donna Henry (Jerry); three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
