Winfred D. (Wink) Kirk, 80, of Peachtree City, passed away at home on December 12, 2016.
Wink was born October 12, 1936 in Atlanta, Ga. and graduated from Bass High School in 1955. He attended the University of South Carolina, Southern Tech, and Georgia Tech. He had a degree in Civil Engineering and was a Registered Land Surveyor. He was employed by the Georgia Department of Transportation from 1962 until his retirement as State Location Engineer in 1993. Wink also served in the U.S. Air Force. His family moved to Peachtree City in 1971. He lived a wonderful life and was loved by family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sammye Kirk; daughter, Kristin Rabun (J.T.) of Peachtree City; son, Doyle Kirk of Clarkesville, Ga.; daughter, Joanna Schall (Jason) of Roswell, Ga.; brother, Taylor Kirk (Kaye) of Cleveland, Ga.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15 in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home in Peachtree City, Ga., Rev. Herb Flanders officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 14 from 5-8 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home in Peachtree City.
