Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone will uphold its long standing habit of celebrating a traditional Christmas with friends and family without all the super high tech, glossy, and noisy ways some of the more modern churches offer.

Pastor Jenny Anderson will lead the congregation in worship services each Sunday during the Advent season at 10:30 a.m. There will be seasonal music, prayers, and scripture readings each week. A Children’s Church and nursery will also be provided.

On Sunday, Dec. 11, at 5 p.m., the youth at Hopewell will present a Live Nativity with the presentation of the story of the birth of Jesus out under the stars, just as it played out all those years ago.

On Sunday, Dec. 18, at 10:30 a.m., the Hopewell choir will present a Christmas Cantata celebrating the birth of Jesus in music and word.

On Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24, at 5 p.m., Anderson will lead the congregation in a service featuring carols, candlelight, and communion.

And on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, at 9:45 a.m., the public is invited to join the members of Hopewell for a light breakfast prior to the 10:30 a.m. Christmas Day service.

All persons in the community, no matter what their religious affiliation, or those with no religious affiliation, are invited to attend any and all of these events during the month of December.

The church is located at 351 Jenkins Road, directly across from Sandy Creek High.

For more information, contact the church office, 770-306-7537.
