Promise Place, the nonprofit organization serving victims of domestic violence and their children continues to partner with the community to raise awareness against domestic violence.

Cyclists from various groups in the surrounding area met at the Trek Bike Store in Kedron Village in Peachtree City the morning of Nov. 12 to start the multi-distance rides. It was the first bike ride (of many to come) in Peachtree City to support the cause.

“We are thrilled that we are continuing to build awareness in the community to help put a stop to domestic violence,” said Promise Place board vice chair Delores Epps. “Domestic violence crosses all boundaries of age, gender, economic status and sexual orientation. Our hope is that through our partnerships with other groups who share our mission, we will get one step closer to stopping the silence and ending the violence.”

Promise Place exists to prevent domestic violence through awareness programs, educational training and providing safe environments for the victims and their families, utilizing legal advocacy, emergency shelters and transitional housing.  For more information, go to www.promiseplace.org.
