A new nonprofit formed by people working in the film industry held its first fundraiser Oct. 24 at Frank’s at the Old Mill restaurant in Fayetteville.
The fundraiser was a benefit for Gene and Alexis, two of the people working with companies affiliated with the film industry located in the Pinewood Atlanta Studios area in west Fayetteville.
Reel People Care are individuals associated with the film industry in Georgia. “Our goal is to provide a platform wherein we can work together to support meaningful change and give back to the community,” the mission statement said.
To that end, the benefit raised money for Gene, who needs a kidney transplant, and for Alexis, who is a victim of domestic violence.
Not a Pinewood Atlanta project, the nonprofit was founded by those working in the industry as a way of meeting the needs of others.
