The Spirit of McIntosh Marching Band from McIntosh High had an outstanding performance at the Lake Lanier Tournament of Bands, earning superior ratings in all categories.
Superior ratings were received for Drum Major, Color Guard, Percussion and Majorette. Due to these ratings, plus superior ratings from five additional judges, the band also received the Sweepstakes Award.
The band’s feature twirler took first place in the Class 3A division, and also won the Gold Division award. Additional class placements include Color Guard, third place; Drum Major, second place; and Percussion, second place.
A total of 30 bands took part in the competition.
