Hugh Miller, a member of the “Down to Earth Organics Association” will plant two of the raised beds in Hopewell United Methodist Church’s Community Garden with strawberries for next spring’s harvest. Miller will also donate 100 strawberry plants to the garden behind Burch Elementary School.

Builders Club at Flat Rock Middle School, will install wire fencing outside the deer fence to keep out armadillos and other vermin. Flat Rock Middle School also received a USDA grant to build a pollinator garden at Hopewell. Students from Flat Rock will start on the garden this fall.

The garden is at Hopewell UMC, 351 Jenkins Road in Tyrone. For more information contact the church office, 770-306-7537.
