Georgia Department of Transportation projects to improve highway infrastructure throughout metro Atlanta continue this weekend, weather permitting. Construction on I-20 and the Express Lanes will require lane closures, which, in turn, are likely to result in delays. Motorists are advised to exercise caution by reducing speed while driving through work zones.
The Georgia DOT encourages motorists to call 511, visit www.511ga.org or check the 511 Georgia and Atlanta Traffic app before departing for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
Planned work this weekend is as follows:
Northwest Corridor Express Lanes
· On I-75, one southbound lane will close between SR 120 Loop/South Marietta Parkway and SR 280/Delk Road continuously from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.
· On I-75, one lane will close on the I-75 southbound ramp to I-285 westbound from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday.
· On I-75, a traffic pace will take place on the I-75 southbound ramp to I-285 westbound from 11 p.m., Friday until 3 a.m., Saturday. The traffic pace will require motorists to drive 5 mph -10 mph to allow contractors to work across the interstate lanes.
· On I-75, the southbound on-ramp from Barrett Parkway will close from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday.
· On I-75, one northbound lane will close between Barrett Parkway and Chastain Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Sunday.
· On I-285, one eastbound lane will close between Paces Ferry Road and the I-75 interchange nightly from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday and from 9 p.m., Saturday until 5 a.m., Sunday.
· On I-285, a traffic pace will take place on the eastbound collector-distributer lanes will close between Cobb Parkway and Windy Ridge Road nightly from 11 p.m., Friday until 3 a.m., Saturday and from 11 p.m., Saturday until 3 a.m., Sunday. The traffic pace will require motorists to drive 5 mph -10 mph to allow contractors to work across the interstate lanes.
· On I-575, one lane will close on the I-575 southbound on-ramp from Bells Ferry Road from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., Saturday.
· On Roswell Road, one lane will close between East Freys Gin Court and the I-75 overpass daily from 9:30 a.m., until 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
· On Hawkins Store Road, a flagging operation will take place under I-575 from 9:30 a.m., until 4 p.m., Saturday.
South Metro Express Lanes
· On I-75, one northbound lane will close between Jodeco Road and Hudson Bridge Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday.
· On I-75, one southbound lane will close between Mt. Zion Boulevard and SR 138/Lake Spivey Parkway from 9 p.m., Friday until 7 a.m., Saturday.
· On I-75, one northbound lane will close between the I-675 interchange and SR 138/Lake Spivey Parkway continuously from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.
· On I-75, one northbound lane will close between SR 20/SR 81/Hampton Road and Jonesboro Road from 7 a.m., until 5 p.m., Saturday.
· On I-75, one northbound lane will close between Hudson Bridge Road and the I-675 interchange from 9 p.m., Friday until 7 a.m., Saturday.
· On SR 20/SR 81/ Hampton Road, one westbound lane will close at Willow Lane nightly from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday and from 9 p.m., Saturday until 5 a.m., Sunday.
· On SR 155/N. McDonough Road, one lane will close at Industrial Boulevard from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday.
I-285
· One eastbound lane will close at Riverside Drive from 9 p.m., Friday until 12 p.m., Saturday.
· Two eastbound lanes will close between Clark Howell Highway and the I-75 interchange from 9 p.m., Friday until 12 p.m., Saturday.
· Two westbound lanes will close between SR 42/Moreland Avenue and SR 54/Jonesboro Road from 6 p.m., Saturday until 12 p.m., Sunday.
I-20
· Two westbound lanes and shoulder will close I-75/I-85 (Downtown Connector) and Six Flags Parkway from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.
· Two eastbound lanes and shoulder will close between Six Flags Parkway and the I-285 interchange from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.
I-75/I-85 (Downtown Connector)
· One lane will close on the I-75/I-85 northbound exit ramp to Pine Street/ Peachtree Street/Civic Center (exit #249 B) from 9 p.m., Friday until 8 a.m., Saturday.
· One lane will close on the I-75/I-85 northbound exit ramp to Spring Street/West Peachtree Street (exit #249 D) from 9 p.m., Sunday until 5 a.m., Monday.
I-75
· One southbound lane and shoulder will close between the I-285 interchange and SR 85 from 9 p.m., Friday until 9 a.m., Saturday and from 9 p.m., Sunday until 5 a.m., Monday.
I-85
· One southbound lane will close between Hamilton Mill Road and SR 20/Buford Drive from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.
· Two northbound lanes will close between SR 139/Riverdale Road and Virginia Avenue nightly from 9 p.m., until 5 a.m., starting Friday night until Monday morning.
Georgia (State Route) 400
· One northbound lane will close between SR 141/Peachtree Parkway and MacFarland Parkway continuously from 9 p.m., Friday until 12 p.m., Monday.
Other State Routes
· On SR 9/ Main Street, one lane will close between Academy Street and the Forsyth County line from 9 p.m., until 6 a.m. Friday night and Saturday night and from 9 p.m., Sunday until 5 a.m., Monday.
· On SR 236/ Lavista Road, one southbound lane will close between I-285 and Briarcliff Road from 8 p.m., Sunday until 5 a.m., Monday.
· On SR 141/Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, one northbound and one southbound lane will close between North Shallowford Road and Club Drive from 8 p.m., Friday until 8 a.m., Saturday and from 8 p.m., Saturday until 8 a.m., Sunday.
