MRBC to host ‘Back to School Bash’
McDonough Road Baptist Church will host its annual “Back to School Bash” this Saturday, Aug. 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the front lawn of the church. Games, inflatables, fire truck, speech screening, child identification, Fayette County sheriff’s department car, and free school supplies (as long as they last) will be featured. Pizza and ice cream will be available for a nominal cost. The church is located at 352 McDonough Road, near McCurry Park. Call 770-460-5423 for more information.

FOLC hosts back to school event
Fellowship of Love Church will host a “Back-To-School Empowerment and Fun Day” Saturday, Aug. 6,  from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  at North Fayette Elementary School, 609 Kenwood Road in Fayetteville. The event will provide free backpacks and school supplies for Grades K-5, as well as free haircuts for children in need. School supplies will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Flag football & cheerleading at MRBC
McDonough Road Baptist Church kicks off its Flag Football and Cheerleading season Aug. 8. Boys and girls in first-eighth grades are invited to participate. First practice is Monday, Aug. 8, and the first game is Saturday, Aug. 29. The season concludes Saturday, Oct. 22. Cost is $90 per child and deadline to register is Aug. 22. Final drive-in movie is Aug. 19
First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City will host its final Golf Cart Drive-In Movie for the community on Aug. 19.   The movie is family friendly and will begin at dusk on the lawn at 206 Willow Bend Rd. Nat’l. Hgts. to host safety summit
National Heights Baptist Church will host a Community Safety Summit on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants may attend classes on what to do in an active shooter situation, avoiding scams and cons, first aid/AED skills, self-defense, teen dating violence, and others. Holy Trinity offers Stephen Ministry
Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City offers Stephen Ministry to provide confidential, one-on-one Christian care to people who are going through a difficult time. Catholics as well as non Catholics are eligible to receive care. A Stephen Minister is a well-trained caregiver who listens, cares, prays, and encourages during a time of need.  Care is confidential and free.
