Gene and Doris Newton of Fayetteville celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary June 28, 2016. They were married at First Christian Church in College Park in 1952 by the Rev. Black.
Gene retired from the East Point Fire Department after 22 years.
They had four children, and now have nine grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. They attend Alvaton Baptist Church in Alvaton.
