Every day more than 9,000 dogs and cats are reportedly killed in shelters, simply because they don’t have safe places to call home. You can help bring that number down to zero.
Strut Your Mutt, Best Friends’ biggest annual fundraising event for Network partners, strives to bring awareness to this sad plight, culminating in a full day of dog walking and festival activities in 14 cities across the country.
For the first time, one of these Strut Your Mutt events will take place at the Historic Fourth Ward Park in Atlanta Sept. 24, 2016 from 8 a.m. until noon. The Fayette Humane Society is one of 10 Georgia animal rescue groups participating in the event. Last year, enthusiastic strutters raised nearly $2 million for 295 participating Network partner teams around the United States.
Best Friends, a national animal rescue organization headquartered in Kanab, Utah, has a mission of “Save Them All,” with a goal that one day, animals will no longer be killed in America’s shelters. The Fayette Humane Society (www.fayettehumane.org) belongs to Best Friends’ No More Homeless Pets® Network of animal welfare and sheltering organizations committed to saving the lives of homeless pets through effective adoption and spay-neuter programs.
