Ollie Ree Peacock, 91, of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away May 11, 2016. She was born in Andulusia, Ala., the daughter of the late Ebb Green and Lucille Green Powell.
Mrs. Peacock wrote a local social column that was posted in the Fayette County News and Today in Peachtree City for many years. She also was co-author of the book “What is Happiness.” After the death of her husband, Mr. Bobbie Don Peacock, she acquired the company they founded, MA Industries.
She is preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Rayford, brothers Lavon and Billy Powell, and nephew Curtis Edwards.
Survivors include her loving daughter Sharon (Richard) Shafer of Peachtree City; granddaughters Tammitha Prince, Susan Rhodes, Pamela Meeks, Cynthia Brash, and Carla (Joey) Wurtz; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 2 close family friends Sarah Stargell and Jannelle Johnson; and her late husband’s children Bobbie Don Peacock, Dale Breen, Diane Peacock and the late Deri Adams.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home in Peachtree City. Rev. Richard Shafer will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:30 until 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City.
