Mr. Darwin “Pat” Pelley, Jr., 82, of Sharpsburg passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016. He was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1934, in Waterloo, Iowa.
Pat served in the Army and the National Guard where he was a Chief Warrant Officer. After his active duty military service, he was a civil servant and was stationed in Germany, Hawaii, Georgia and served tours in Vietnam, South Korea along with many other temporary duty locations including Egypt, Sudan and North Africa. He was a car lover and an avid traveler who enjoyed many cruises.
The memorial service was Monday, May 9, 2016 at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Peachtree City, 208 Willowbend Road, Peachtree City, Ga. with Dr. Jimmy Patterson officiating. The family greeted friends following the memorial service. Rather than flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Christian City Children’s Village, 7345 Red Oak Road, Union City, Ga. 30291.

Survivors include wife, Nancy Walden; children, Elizabeth Tucker, Scott (Denise) Pelley, Kimberly (James Baysinger) Pelley, Shannon (Zaida) Pelley; grandchildren, Kyle McElroy, Andrea Moore, Ashton Pelley, Drake Pelley, Kristi Lancaster, Daniel Hagler, Samantha Hagler, Gary Pelley; five great-grandchildren; and his beloved Yorkies, Madeline & Abigail.
