Willie L. Williams, nationally known former Federal Security Director of TSA at Hartsfield Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, Ga. died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at his home in Fayetteville, Ga. He was 72 years old.
Willie is the former Police Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department and Police Commissioner of Philadelphia Police Department.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Evelina (nee Edwards) Williams; children, Willie L. Williams III, Lisa M. Williams, and Eric A. Williams; daughters-in-law Pamela Harris-Williams and Valerie Green-Williams; mother Helen S. Williams of Dallas, Texas and Philadelphia, Pa.; deceased father Willie L. Williams, Sr. of Camden, S.C.; brothers Roger Williams of Dallas, Texas and David Williams of California; sisters Catherine Williams-Walker of Dallas, Texas and Christine Nutt of Philadelphia, Pa.; grandchildren Alaina and Willie L. Williams IV, Kaila, Kelly and Karlee Williams; and sisters-in-law Patricia L. Odoms, Sr. of Wake Forest, N. C. and Carol B. Drummond of Philadelphia, Pa. He also leaves behind to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 2, 2016, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, Ga. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016, 11 a.m., at Zion Baptist Church, 3600 N Broad St., Philadelphia, Pa. Viewing will be held from 8 – 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Chelten Hills Cemetery, 1701 E. Washington Lane, Philadelphia, Pa.
