The film is an adaptation written by Vanessa Wright, based on the short story by Stephen King. The story follows a young couple who arrive in the town of Willow, Maine. After repeated warnings from town locals to leave, they stay and learn the horrific price the town must pay for prosperity. Every seven years, the rainy season descends upon Willow in a downpour of vicious, man-eating toads. The newest inhabitants of town are then sacrificed and suffer the deadly consequences.
The producers of the film are hosting a red carpet benefit to raise money for the film. The event will take place Saturday, June 18, 7-10 p.m. at Senoia Coffee & Cafe in downtown Senoia. A special guest will be at the event to sign autographs and take photos. There will be a silent auction full of items and services from local businesses. Tickets are now on sale.
