The topping-off celebration for Piedmont Fayette Hospital’s expansion of the emergency department and patient rooms was met with a full crew of construction workers and friends of the hospital on March 18. The final beam was placed over the ambulance entrance to the cheers of onlookers. One of the three construction workers on top when the final beam was placed, who initially sported a long gray beard, turned out to be Piedmont Fayette CEO Michael Burnett.
