A man accused of robbing a Fayetteville bank in mid-2015 was arrested in Mississippi on similar charges.
Titus Jeshua Lamb, 24, of Atlanta, was arrested by police in West Point, Mississippi, on bank robbery charges, according to Fayetteville Police Department spokesman Mike Whitlow.
Whitlow said Lamb was a suspect in the June 4, 2015 armed robbery of the Bank of North Georgia location on Burch Road at Ga. Highway 54.
Whitlow said Lamb walked into the bank and presented a note to the teller demanding money. After obtaining the money, Lamb fled in a champagne-colored Buick LaCrosse, driven by a second suspect.
“Fayetteville detectives were notified by detectives from the West Point (Mississippi) Police Department that Lamb had been arrested for a bank robbery there,” said Whitlow.
“Fayetteville detectives then coordinated with West Point in gathering additional evidence which led to charging Lamb for the Fayetteville robbery.”
Whitlow said Lamb is currently in jail in West Point and will be transferred to Fayette County at some point in the near future.
Fayetteville detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Lamb charging him with armed robbery. Lamb is also suspected of similar robberies in McDonough and Morrow, Whitlow said.
