At its January meeting, the Peachtree City chapter of New Neighbors League Club (NNLC) crowned Margarette Coleman their 2015 New Neighbor of the Year. Coleman, a native of Atlanta, joined New Neighbors League in July 2013.
She has lived in many places in her life. She attended high school in Alaska, college in California, and has lived and worked in Florida, Japan, Maryland, and Kansas. Her background is in social work, so no wonder she is always lending a helping hand to others.
Margarette is married to Anthony, a pilot for FedEx. They have two wonderful teenage twins Aidan and Nadia. And last year, her family hosted a foreign exchange student, Joris, from Germany for 10 months.
Margarette is a very active woman. She is always on the go and involves herself in many different activities. As a member of New Neighbors League, she has served on the Executive Board as 1st Vice President and President and then served as Public Relations chair.
Currently, she serves as an advisor. She participates in Pokeno, Bunko, Let’s Go Shopping, Luncheons, Matinee Madams, Chick Flicks, Breakfast Bunch, Let’s Eat Healthy and Socials, just to name a few. This last year, she helped with our 4th of July parade entry and her entire family walked in it, rain and all.
Outside of the club, she is an avid tennis player and belongs to the Southern Crescent Tennis Association. She is an active member of St. Andrew’s in the Pines Episcopal Church where she is a member of the Daughters of the King and serves on the Stewardship Committee.
