Looking for free family-friendly activities appropriate for all ages? The Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center offers fantastic and fun programming. Some of the upcoming session topics and activities include composting, art/nature and bears.
* Composting: Nature’s Recyclers (Dec. 19) – Learn how to start composting at home. Gather great info and even get to take a composter home with you.
* Artin’ on Nature (Jan. 16) – Exploration opportunity of different mediums – no artistic talent required.
* Bears of Georgia (Jan. 23) – Discover info on Georgia’s black bear population.
What do you need to do to attend? Registration is required (so we know how many supplies to have on hand), so phone 770-784-3059. Events held rain or shine.
Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center is located near Mansfield, less than an hour southeast of Atlanta off I-20. The address is 543 Elliott Trail, Mansfield 30055. The ‘Family Campfire’ event will take place at the new campfire ring at the conference center on the property.
