Ariel Parker of Fayetteville was one of 45 students recently inducted into the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society at Lander University in Greenwood, S.C.

To be eligible for induction, students must be juniors or seniors who rank in the top 10 percent of their class.

Parker, a senior and scholar-athlete, is majoring in chemistry. The Sandy Creek graduate is also a guard on Lander’s women’s basketball team, whose record after seven games is 5-2, 1-0 in the Peach Belt Conference.

For three seasons, she has been named to the Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll for student-athletes with at least a 3.0 grade point average.

Lander Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Dr. David Mash described Parker and her fellow honor society inductees as “impressively accomplished students who have distinguished themselves in every discipline and major on campus, and who have won awards and scholarships in every major.”
