The Northgate Vikings football team is in the state semifinals for the first time in the school’s history.
After a 34-21 win over Kell in Friday night’s quarterfinal, Northgate will travel to Allatoona Dec. 4 for a semifinal matchup. Allatoona defeated Houston County 59-47 in their quarterfinal.
In the other two AAAAA quarterfinal games, Glynn Academy defeated Stockbridge 24-21 and Ware County topped Drew 46-21. Northgate, Stockbridge and Drew were the three Region 4-AAAAA teams in the quarterfinals.
The AAAAA state championship game is Friday, Dec. 11, at 8 p.m. at the Georgia Dome.
