A group of teens and others from Peachtree City conducted a Nov. 14 yard sale designed to assist the Weeks family after the loss of many of their belonging when a Nov. 4 fire did significant damage to their home on Grenoble Road.

Hannah Preston, one of the many Peachtree City residents lending a hand to the family in need, said on Monday that the yard sale at Legacy Church in Senoia raised $1,300 in gift cards and donations and another $1,000 from Legacy Church.

Preston said the yard sale was one of a number of efforts to lend a hand to the Weeks family in their time of need after a Nov. 4 fire caused heavy smoke damage and moderate fire damage.

The fire left mom Felicia and dad Ian, who is awaiting a heart transplant, along with their four children in need of clothes and home furnishings.

Friends and neighbors are still responding to the family’s loss. The Weeks Family Home Fund (https://www.gofundme.com/5389a7bw) was set up and, as of Nov. 19, has raised nearly $28,000 of the $50,000 goal.
