Elaine Milligan Johnson, 83, of Fayetteville, passed away September 24, 2015. Elaine was a member of Woolsey Baptist Church for 40 years, singing in the church choir and being a member of the Lambs Sunday School class. She taught school for 40 years and was named Teacher of the Year. She was a graduate of Kittrell High School, where she played basketball and held numerous records. She also played basketball for Middle Tennessee State University. Elaine will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Charles Johnson; son Douglas Johnson (Karen); grandson Jacob Johnson (Stephanie); granddaughters Hollis M. Taylor (William) and Kellis J. Boland (Sean); 4 great-grandchildren; brother Thomas D. Milligan (Barbara), sisters Rachael Harris, Nancy Hines (Roger), and Annette Mehta; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Woolsey Baptist Church, with Rev. Chuck Chambers officiating. Burial followed at Brooks Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
