Report claims Senoia is best for southside housing value

A report based on data from the U.S. Census Bureau on the best suburbs in Georgia to buy a house found that Senoia led the pack when compared to other municipalities in Fayette and Coweta counties.

The report by local.niche.com cited U.S. Census Bureau information and compiled an assessment of the best suburbs in Georgia to buy a home. Among the considerations were median home value, the percentage of people owning compared to renting and the percentage of residents ages 25-44.

Senoia was ranked No. 5 of the cities in Georgia.

Senoia’s population includes a large number of people ages 25-44. In fact, 34.8 percent of the population is cited in that age grouping.

In terms of housing, Senoia has a median home price of $193,300. Seventy-two percent of Senoia residents own their home.

Coming in at No. 12 was Tyrone.

The report notes that 24.1 percent of Tyrone residents are aged 25-44. The median home price is $233,500. Home ownership in Tyrone is 81.8 percent.

Fayetteville was ranked No. 20 in the report.

Fayetteville’s population includes 25.1 percent of residents ages 25-44. The city has a median home price of $194,000 while home ownership is 74.3 percent.

Peachtree City is No. 26 on the list.

Peachtree City’s population includes 22.4 percent who are ages 25.44. The city has a median home price of $274,900 and the ownership rate of 74.8 percent.

Coming in at No. 38 is Newnan.

A total of nearly 32 percent of the city’s residents are ages 25-44. Pertaining to median home price it is $179,300 in Newnan while the ownership percentage is 53.4 percent.
