With his loving wife of 56 years, and his family by his side, Robert Struyk passed away at home on Wednesday, September 2, 2015.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Rose-Marie; his son, Duane Struyk; his daughter, Kim-Marie Walker; his daughter, Lisa-Ann (Craig) VanWyk; and his son, David (Pat) Struyk. He leaves 5 much loved grandchildren: Jessica (Henry) Brewer; Christin (Cole) Burdett; and Benjamin, Daniel and Jacob VanWyk.
Bob started life in Prospect Park, N.J. on November 13, 1937. He was a carpenter by trade, building many homes for families in northern New Jersey including the beautiful homes he built to raise his own family. He loved working with wood and with his hands, but, mostly, he loved his family. He was a good man, honest and true. A man of integrity and a man who was always there to lend a helping hand. He was proud of his family and proud of his service in the United States Army. Before relocating to Georgia he was a long time member of Covenant Christian Reformed Church in North Haledon, N.J. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life was held at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 819 Highway 314, Fayetteville, Ga., on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Southwest Christian Hospice, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, Ga. 30291, would be greatly appreciated.
