On the 14th of August 2015, Henry “Mac” McCaughey of James Island, S.C. made the final journey to the heavens above.
Though we mourn our loss of such an amazing and loving husband and father, we celebrate his wonderful life. His love for the outdoors had us camping and boating throughout our childhoods. Every weekend was an adventure from the numerous boat trips to Bird Key to camping in the Everglades with raccoons rummaging through our station wagon. As the kids moved away, this Army veteran gave much of his time and effort to the VFW and American Legion in support of our military. He touched so many lives in so many ways and this world is a better place because of him.
Mac was survived by his wife of 65 years, Sona and sister Barbara Toland (husband Dave); his four sons, Richard (wife Nancy), Eric, Paul (wife Denise), Timothy and daughter Sindy whose husband Kevin held a very special place in his heart. Mac had 7 grandchildren, Jennifer, Mindy, Michael, Marc, Jory, Breelyn, Katrina and 4 great grands, Nicholas, Madison, Kynsley and Violet.
We love you like crazy dad, we will remember….. “don’t sweat the small stuff!”
