Nancy Alice Nation Massey was born April 20, 1942, the middle daughter of Eugene and Frances Nation.

Married to Gerald Massey. Nancy grew up in East Point, Ga. and attended Russell High School. Nancy’s kidney disease never kept her from excelling academically. She graduated from Georgia Southwestern where she went on to gain several scholastic scholarships and became a registered nurse. She worked many years in the ER at Clayton General Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital. She’ll be remembered for being genial, loving candy bars and Pepsi, comforting others and forever a nurse.

Aunt Nancy was known for her honest and eccentric humor. She showed me a centerfold photo of Burt Reynolds, took me to see Star Wars, and saved my life when I fell out of the car at 8 years old. On a family vacation in California she wore a large sombrero entertaining us during a flight delay in Dallas.

Proceeded in death by sister Carole Williams.

Survived by her sister Patricia Nation, daughter Lisa McEachern, grandson Cody Hill, niece Shannon Alexander, nephew Bubba Williams all from Tyrone.

Genuine, kind, modest, her gentle nature will forever sustain our family.

Rev. Bob Tyler will hold a service Wednesday, July 29, at 10 a.m. in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Union City, Ga. Following the service, a pay-for-your-own luncheon will be at the Historic Green Manor, 6400 Westbrook Avenue in Union City.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Kidney Fund.
