PTC soldier: We’re supporting NATO

My name is John Long and I am currently deployed overseas as the spearhead of Operation Atlantic Resolve.

I just wanted to email someone on the staff to see if anyone was interested in writing an article about the current deployment I am on and the next two through 2016.

The reason I feel it is imperative for our purpose here to be known is because I have seen first-hand what our country is up against and how we will respond.

My military public affairs office is encouraging the junior officers to write their local newspapers all around the U.S. and get the message out there that the U.S. is dedicated to supporting the NATO allies forces and is ready to respond to any further Russian aggression in Eastern Europe.

I am currently in Germany for the next month or so and am scheduled to deploy to Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia over the next year and a half.

I grew up in Coweta County but spent most of my time in Peachtree City. I am an Eagle Scout of Troop 175 sponsored by the First United Methodist Church and a graduate of Landmark Christian School’s class of 2009. I also would just like to thank everyone in my community who has made me the leader I am today.

God bless.
