The Peachtree City Police Department is inviting the community to come out and connect with its officers during its “Coffee With a Cop” event planned for Thursday, July 2, 7-8 a.m. at the Chick-fil-A restaurant in Kedron Village.

“Coffee With a Cop” is a national program supported by the U.S. Department of Justice. Its aim is to encourage open lines of communication between police officers and citizens. The program states that one of its key successes is that it removes the physical barriers and crisis situations that routinely define interactions between law enforcement officials and community members.

Peachtree City residents of all ages are encouraged to bring their questions, concerns and comments as they meet with the city’s police officers.

The event is the second of its kind for Peachtree City Police.
