The Georgia Department of Transportation will hold an open house this week where citizens are invited to learn about suggested detours for the proposed I-75 northbound collector-distributer system project.
The informal open house will take place Thursday, June 25, 5-7 p.m. at Forest Park City Hall, 745 Forest Parkway in Forest Park.
“The suggested detours will reroute motorists who travel on Frontage Road and Forest Parkway to access I-75 northbound and I-285,” said Sam Samu, Georgia DOT project manager. “We encourage residents to attend the open house to view the detours, leave comments, and ask questions.”
The overall project proposes to construct collector-distributer lanes adjacent to I-75 northbound from SR 331/Forest Parkway to I-285. Construction upgrades consists of reconfiguring the SR 331/Forest Parkway at I-75 northbound interchange ramps; the I-285 at I-75 northbound interchange ramps; and reconfiguring Frontage Road along the east side of I-75.
Residents can record their comments at the open house. Written statements can be submitted until Monday, July 6 to:
