Here are some local students and their achievements at colleges and universities across the country:

Jamie Crawford of Peachtree City graduated this spring from Furman University.

Linda Brittany Wilkins of Tyrone received a Bachelor of Arts (journalism, religion, cum laude) from Baylor University this spring.

This spring’s graduates from Ohio Christian University included Vercilda Brown of Peachtree City (Associate of Arts in pastoral ministry), Dina Hardy of Fayettville (Associate of Arts in pastoral ministry), and Joie Johnson of Fayetteville (Associate of Arts in Biblical studies).

Named to the President’s List at Jacksonville State University were Christopher Womack and Tya Wright of Newnan; Anthony Alfieri of Senoia; Ryan Fagerstrom, Emily Smith and Joshua Spratlin of Sharpsburg; and Kailey Inhulsen of Fayetteville.

The most recent Dean’s List at Jacksonville State University includes Kristina Callow, Kiandrea Hall, Marissa Morgan and Shalonda Willingham of Newnan; Morgan Cawthorne, Jared Triggs and Andrea White of Sharpsburg; Taylor Coppolino and William Daprano of Fayetteville; and Melissa Mathews of Peachtree City.

Andrea Holloway of Newnan performed in three recent musical events at Brenau University. She played clarinet in the Spectrum Winds concert April 7 and “That Mancini Magic” May 23, and she sang with the Spectrum Singers in the “Celebrating American Composers” April 13. Holloway is a 2015 student with a health science, pre-occupational therapy major. She is a graduate of East Coweta High School.

Matthew Lewis of Peachtree City graduated this spring from Northern Michigan University with a B.S. in environmental studies.

Adam L. Pendleton of Brooks was among nine individuals who recently received certificates at graduation exercises for the 278th session of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC) Regional Police Academy at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Pendleton was sponsored by the GPSTC, which regularly holds multi-week intensive training sessions designed to acquaint officers with state-of-the-art law enforcement techniques. The Academy operates in cooperation with the School of Human Sciences at ABAC.
