Rapper Rick Ross was arrested June 10 by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office on misdemeanor marijuana charges after a traffic stop in north Fayette County.
Sheriff Barry Babb said a deputy stopped the Bentley driven by 39-year-old Ross, whose name is William Leonard Roberts, on Ga. Highway 279 in north Fayette in relation to a window tint violation.
Babb said the deputy approached the vehicle and smelled what appeared to be marijuana and received permission to search the vehicle.
The deputy found a misdemeanor amount of marijuana, less than one ounce, in the vehicle, Babb said.
Ross was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and a window tint violation, Babb said.
Ross after the arrest listed his address as Laurel Road in Dazey, Florida.
The Mabach Music record label was created by Ross, according to biography.com
Ross has reportedly purchased the estate on Hwy. 279 previously owned by boxing champ Evander Holyfield.
