After several unsatisfying years of substandard city landscaping by a contractor, the Peachtree City Public Works staff is now doing a nice job making PTC beautiful once again.
There is a glaring difference in the quality of care. The median grass and shrubs and mulch on the Ga. highways 74 and 54 corridors now have that nicely trimmed look we all hope for.
When landscaping looks so good, we can ignore the griping from a few about traffic cones used to close a lane now and then to protect the workers. With clean streets and landscapes looking so good, I hope the PTC police are alert to ticket litterbugs who carelessly toss trash on our streets.
I am one who has made noise about the neglect of the entrance to our neighborhood. In the incremental progression of getting to one neighborhood entry after another, the city crew tended to ours and it has never looked better with weed removal, trimmed trees and shrubs, edging and mulching. Thank you, particularly to Jon Rorie, who has re-directed the muscle of Public Works, and to Scott Pittman as well.
Like many others, I complained when the contractors did a lousy job on our city landscaping. Now that our own city crew is doing a fine job, they deserve our thanks.
