The nonprofit Healing Bridge Clinic recently hosted a “Volunteer Appreciation Dinner” to recognize the many people who make the clinic possible each week.

Healing Bridge Clinic is one of only about 95 free clinics in the state working hard to make a difference to those that need it most.

September marked the fifth year that the Healing Bridge Clinic has been a community resource providing qualified uninsured patients access to primary healthcare at no cost.

Growth of the clinic this past year includes the addition of three physicians, one pharmacist, eight registered nurses, a dietitian, and one licensed practical nurse. Additionally, HBC has coordinated with South University in Savannah for placement of two student nurse practitioners for primary care preceptorships under Medical Director Dr. Ray Bennett, MD. And a relationship with Clayton State University has resulted in internship placement of a Masters of Health Administration graduate student and student nurses at weekly clinics.
