P.H. “Hugh” McKinney, 93, of Flowery Branch, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015.

Mr. McKinney was a member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church and a Deacon Emiritus. He served his country in World War II in the United States Navy as a pilot and flight instructor. Mr. McKinney retired from Arrow Shirt Co. (the world’s largest manufacturing shirt plant at one time) as a Plant Manager. He was a scoutmaster for many years and was a Silver Beaver recipient. He was the assistant doorkeeper for the Georgia House of Representatives.

Mr. McKinney is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mary Johnson McKinney.

He is survived by his daughters: Carolyn McKinney Seeger and Beth McKinney(Sam) Proctor; son, Hugh Alston(Cathy) McKinney, grandchildren, Hugh Alston (Kate) McKinney, Jr. and Matt Proctor; great-grandchildren, Jarvis, Linus, Alice, Felix; brother, Ben McKinney; sister, Sue Bardin.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Fayetteville First Baptist Church with Reverend Glenn Stringham officiating. The internment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, College Park immediately following the service.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 12 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
