Law enforcement officers from Fayette and Clayton counties have arrested a woman and continue to search for two male suspects who robbed the AT&T store on Ga. Highway 54 in Peachtree City late Tuesday afternoon.
Peachtree City officers at approximately 6 p.m. responded to the AT&T store on Hwy. 54 to a reported robbery, according to department spokesman Mark Brown. Numerous cell phones were taken, Brown added.
Brown said the suspects were subsequently located on Hwy. 54 east of Fayetteville. The vehicle was abandoned near Corinth Road and officers searched the area.
Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb said a female suspect in the vehicle was taken into custody in the Corinth Road area.
Babb said the two males eluded officers during the search. One of the males was described as a black male wearing all black with a black cap. The other male was described as a black male wearing a red hoodie. One male reportedly had a semi-automatic handgun.
Brown said K-9 officers from Peachtree City and Fayetteville were working with deputies from the sheriff’s offices in Fayette and Clayton counties to search for the suspects.
Brown said the investigation into the robbery is continuing.
