A Palmetto man has been charged with the Nov. 9 armed robbery of a convenience store on U.S. Highway 29 in north Coweta County.
Sean Thomas Staples, 33, was arrested Nov. 13 and charged with armed robbery, according to Sgt. Jason Fetner of the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.
Fetner said the armed robbery occurred during the evening hours at the Mini Mart on Hwy. 29 in north Coweta County.
Staples entered the building, briefly cased the store and departed. He returned approximately 20 minutes later, Fetner said. Staples then produced a handgun and robbed the cashier, Fetner added.
Fetner said Staples arrived and left the location both times in a white minivan.
Staples was arrested without incident on Nov. 13 at a motel in Newnan, said Fetner. Items such as the shoes worn during the robbery, along with the van, were obtained at the time of the arrest, Fetner added.
Coweta deputies and Newnan police officers made the arrest.
