Peachtree City Police are advising residents to be aware of a new email scam informing citizens that they are needed for jury duty.
“We hope not, but just in case, we want you all to be aware,” said department spokesperson Odilia Bergh. “A citizen recently reported having received an email that arrived from an address that appeared to be connected to a state website @judiciary.state.nj.us. This email alleged the recipient was needed for jury duty.”
Bergh said the email stated that in order to be removed from the list a questionnaire was required to be completed.
“Needless to say, do not fill in personal information online through untrusted websites. Just delete it,” Bergh said.
