Mrs. Ruth Annette Burke Ford, age 92, of Redwine Road, Fayetteville, Ga., died Wednesday, August 20. A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 23, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Fayetteville, Ga., with the Rev. James F. Lambert officiating.
Mrs. Ford was born on July 29, 1922 in Oak Grove, Ky. to Walton George Allen Burke and Mary Belle Bartlett Burke. She graduated from Bethel Woman’s College in Hopkinsville, Ky. in 1941 before teaching school and working at Camp Campbell, Ky. Later she married, moved to North Wilkesboro, N.C., raised four children, and taught at N. W. Elementary School for fifteen years as an aide.
Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James Kinnaird Ford, and a granddaughter, Rachel Ford Springer.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters; James K Ford, Jr. (Lorraine) of Salisbury, Md., Douglas H Ford (Michelle) of Charlotte, N.C,. Anita F Davis ( Denver) of Fayetteville, Ga., and Patsy F Eads (Jay) of Brandon, Miss.; ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
