There were a number of reasons why I considered running for City Council. One was I was tired of listening to the unprofessional bickering between some of the sitting council members at that time.
I made my final decision to run for a council seat after witnessing yet another shouting match between a couple of council members at a council meeting.
I was determined that, if elected, I would do all I could to bring the council together as a professional team that worked towards a common goal of bettering our community.
Since the new council members and mayor took office, I feel strongly that we have all put forth an effort that has resulted in a council of professionals that work extremely well together.
We do not always agree, and probably never will, but when a decision is made, we all support it as a team.
I have noted some comments in the newspaper and online that some people think we are not getting along. Nothing is further from the truth.
Our city now has a City Council that works very well together. What a breath of fresh air. But come see for yourself. Every citizen is encouraged to attend City Council meetings.
