Flat Rock Middle School students use science topics to help first grade students at Robert J. Burch Elementary review their sight words. Students from Mrs. Tatum’s eighth grade physical science class were given the task of creating science books that contained first and second grade sight words to share with students in Mrs. Knowles’ first grade classroom at Robert J. Burch Elementary.

This project allowed for eighth grade students to act as role models and teachers to the younger students, while also hopefully igniting an interest in science for the young Burch Bears.

This project allowed for elementary students and middle school students to have a novel experience that was certain to make the final week of school memorable. Photo/Special.
