The Fayetteville Family History Lab will hold its monthly family history class on Wednesday, June 4, from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at 2021 Redwine Rd., in rooms 108-109. The event is hosted by the Fayetteville Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons).
The class will be “Exploring the Vastness of familysearch.org,” the official and free website of the LDS Church’s vast Family History Library based in Salt lake City, Utah. The library contains billions of family history records.
Users need not be members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to use the site, and no one will be contacted unless users request it.
Those planning to attend the class should bring their laptop/tablet or use one of the church’s and get some hands-on experience with this amazing and free family history resource.
Familysearch.org offers billions of digitized records in addition to family trees, video classes, research assistance and the card catalog to millions of rolls of microfilmed records of interest to family history researchers.
