Freddie Lamar Carr, 70, of Sharpsburg, Ga. passed away March 14, 2014.
Born on October 25, 1943 to Frances and Johnnie Carr, he grew up on a farm in LaGrange, Ga. and continued to remain active at the farm his entire adult life. He graduated from Georgia State University. He retired from IBM after 30+ years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Mountville, Ga.; and a member of the Delta Hunting Club in South Georgia. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tennis, and farming.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frances Carr and Johnnie Carr, both of LaGrange, Ga.
Freddie is survived by his wife, Anne Carr of Sharpsburg, Ga.; two daughters, Cindy Haygood (Jr.) of Cedartown, Ga. and Anne Checkle (David) of Newnan; granddaughter, Haley Satterfield of Tucson, Ariz.; brother, Walter Carr (Debbie) of Jacksonville, Fla.; and sister, Sherry Robbins (Gary) of Oneonta, Ala. and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 4 p.m. at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, Ga. with Rev. John Weber officiating. A visitation will be held from 2:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a contribution to Gentiva Hospice, 2525 Hwy 34 E, Newnan, Ga. 30265.
