Construction of a medical office building on Brandywine Boulevard off Ga. Highway 54 is another sign that the economic climate in Fayetteville continues to improve.
The Brandywine Medical Building is the second of two medical office buildings approved in 2006 though only one of the buildings was built due to a receding local economy. Now site work for the second building is underway with a completion date expected in March.
The 14,763 square-foot building is situated on 4.2 acres and includes approximately 500 feet of frontage on Brandywine Boulevard.
The medical office building is across the street from the Hope Assisted Living and Memory Care Center that opened recently.
Fayetteville this year has also seen a significant increase in the number of single-family homes under construction. There were 4 single-family home permits issued in 2011 and 38 permits issued in 2012. But in the first half of 2013 there were just over 100 permits issued.
The uptick in both residential and commercial construction comes at a time when Pinewood Atlanta Studios is under construction on Veterans Parkway on the 1,200 acres annexed into the city on Sept. 1.
