Take your family to Inman Farm Days

A lot of our younger families in Fayette County have missed out on the experiences of living and working on the farm. Agriculture was the once a way of life for most everyone in Fayette County back in the old days.

I strongly encourage you to take the kids to the local Inman Farm Heritage Days right here in beautiful Fayette County on Sept. 20-22. They will enjoy a fun cultural experience and admission is free.

Five generations of the Minter family and a whole lot of friends have offered their time and land over the years, so we get a chance to remember a simpler time and pay tribute to the people in our little farming community who for generations worked the fields and maintained the farming way of life.

2013 marks the 17th year the Minters have put on the Inman Farm Heritage Days.

There will be a neat exhibit of farming equipment, plenty of great food and a bunch of fun crafts for all ages.

This is the kind of wonderful, down-home community event that makes us all proud to be living in beautiful Fayette County.

The gates will open on Friday and Saturday at 9 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. Sunday hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thanks to Rick and Joanne Minter, their children and grandchildren for opening up their hearts and their farm to our citizens. You help us all remember our rural roots.
