Ollie Mae Hairston, 79, of Peachtree City, passed away August 24, 2013.
She was an executive secretary at Chrysler Corporation’s World Headquarters in Auburn Hills, Mich. and retired after 28 years of faithful service. Later in life, she moved to Christian City’s Sparks Inn, in Union City, Ga., and enjoyed worshipping as a member of nearby Lester Road Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Hairston. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Ward and her husband Marvin of Detroit; and Christie Burton and her husband Gerald of Peachtree City; grandchildren, Matthew Ward of Detroit, Elana Burton and Maya Burton both of Peachtree City; mother, Fannie Mae Johnson of Detroit; sisters Ann Gordon of Detroit and Naomi Mitchell of Kansas City, Mo. and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday, August 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Reverend Mark Westmoreland and Minister Tony Sullivan will officiate.
